About kek.social

kek.social is a social network with a timeline and nothing on top of it. What the people you follow post is what you see, newest first. There is no ranking model, no reach score, and no way for anybody here to make an account quieter without saying so.

No Shadow Banning

That is a claim, so here is what backs it. There is one table in this database that can limit an account, and every row in it carries a written reason. Nothing else in the schema scores a post or an account: no rank column, no weight, no quality flag. A test in the build reads the schema and fails if one appears.

Every action taken against your account is on your standing page, in full, including the ones that have finished. Every action taken against anybody is counted on the transparency page. If a ribbit is removed it leaves a note in the thread saying so, rather than vanishing and leaving the replies to make no sense.

What You Control

Muting and blocking are yours and affect only what you see. A muted ribbit is not deleted and is not hidden from anybody else: it appears in your timeline as one line saying which mute covered it, and opens when you click it. A gap with no explanation is the thing this site exists not to do, and that holds for your own settings too.
